Having spent a few evenings this week uploading and arranging the images on this website I now find it impossible to pick a favourite among them. I should add, that all the images have been provided by two Aberfoyle residents - John Clow and Jimmy Quinn - and credit for preserving them and looking after them is entirely theirs. If I must pick a favourite photo though, I think it would have to be one of the views of Aberfoyle Main Street, like the below one, because unlike many of the other postcards, it includes that essential component of human interest - people! I particularly like the two little children in the left of the image, standing in front of a building which once occupied the space where the Aberfoyle Tourist Information now is. What was this building? A shop, perhaps? Are the children about to walk through the entrance, or are they about to press their noses against the shop window?....If you know, please post a comment.
